anybody have a guess what the current price for lead is per pound? It is pure lead -not ready to make bullets yet. I know a guy who has a bunch, but doesn't know what it is worth.

The scrap yard I trade at is still getting $1/pound. I asked the owner's wife when the selling price was going to go down to reflect market prices and her reply was that she didn't know.
The good thing about this particular place is that they pull off the clips and separate all the zinc and steel WW from the lead WW.
That almost makes it worth the dollar-per-pound price.

Where are you guys buying lead from. Every scrap yard I have talked to doesn't sell lead. They treat it like toxic waste.

Around here the scrapyards are buying WW's for 12 to 15 cents per pound and selling them for around 70 cents per pound.

I run my own little ad stating that I would pay x amount and have been taking in a few hundred pounds a week. Some of the locals that have been getting it for free are upset with me. All I can say is go cry to your momma
