I picked up a brand new Colt Commander in .45 acp of course.
What a nice gun. The blueing in rich and even. The trigger was a little heavy buy that easily fixed.
It comes with Nice wood grips(I think they are Chip McCormick).
I shot it a little bit when I picked it up.
Put about 30 rounds through it. No Problems hits to point of aim.
I am in the process of putting an Ed Brown non memory grove beavertail on it. I will also change out the Thumb safety and black out the white dots on the sights(I like all black sights).
Other that I am not changing a thing.
The inside is free of tool marks and the feed ramp and breech face are nice and smooth.

I pretty darn happy with it. I have to say Money well spent on these new Colts.

Colt certainly has been making some sweet pistols recently.

There's something special about a new-to-me Colt automatic. I got my first Commander in 1967 and have only been without one very briefly since then.

I wouldn't willingly do without an alloy .38 revolver, for special occasions, but a CLW is my day-in, day-out carry piece.;)

Best,
Johnny

After perusing this area and reading about beretta 21's , the FN57 squirter and defensive chats about the nine(none thanks), I find a breath of fresh air!
I carry a Officer sized Colt or ParaLDA Companion(on duty) but love my Commander. Bought it in 1979 in Alaska and it has been on some serious hikes and climbing trips over the years!
I'd love it if Colt came out with the CCO again!! But from the looks of it, my meager Colt 1911 collection(5) will not be so small for long!
Good shooting!
