New barrel! :)

I finally found an HD barrel for my Winchester 1300! I originally bought the gun off Gunbroker with a 30" full choke barrel which I originally intended to cut off, but it was nicer than the auction read, and I just couldn't bring myself to bring out the hacksaw. So anyway, I've been on the hunt for a short barrel for months now, and just happened to come across a hardware/sporting goods store that was liquidating the guns part of the business (divorce issues). Anyway, he whined about it, but I talked him down to $85. So the irony of the thing is, that if he had spent 30 seconds with some Hoppe's like I did when I got home, I wouldn't have busted his balls about it.:neener:
Anyway, I like the way the gun feels a lot better almost a full foot shorter :)

Sweet! Now you have a shotgun that can do double duty. How long is the new barrel? Have you considered adding a magazine extension?

18.25" by the stick down the barrel method. I'm thinking about a +2, but I'm not sure about the extra weight out front. The main thing I didn't like about the 30" is how barrel heavy it made the gun.

Every chance I get... Which, unfortunately isn't that often.:(

I have a 1300 defender, which I think is the best shotgun made, you should see me with this thing, but otherwords, I wish I could find a long barrel for it, because I'd like to have a barrel for skeet/ducks but using the same shotgun.
