There are a few full auto shotguns that were made. None ever really made it big since they had some limitations and there really wasn't a huge military demand and no civillian market per say.
Pancor made the Jackhammer, I believe and it used a drum that rotated like a big revolver cylinder. Pretty sure it was a full auto.
The other "Big" player was the USA12 that basically looked like a big traditional assault rifle on steroids.

There have also been a few Rem 1100s converted by Class III manufacturers, but the main problem with ALL of these things is the obscene recoil with anything but super-light loads. I once watched a live-fire demo of the full-auto USAS-12 firing "stun" rounds (imagine a shotgun-fired stun grenade) that was really freaky; there was a rapid succession of floor-to-ceiling fireballs and an earsplitting roar. It would've worked on me, but the concept of a full-auto shotgun doesn't really have much real-world utility.

The Pancor Jackhammer never made it past the prototype stage. Interesting side fact:
The revolving cylinder could be setup to be used in a fashion similar to a claymore.
But there's not much point to a full auto shotgun.
Moving to shotgun forum.

To remove the Ammo Cassette, one must pull the trigger half the way back (presumably with the safety engaged), and then pull the handguard forward.
dumb dumb dumb. What a lousy and dangerous manual of arms.
With such a slow cyclic rate, regular full auto rifles have better firepower, accuracy, controlability and range.

The USAS-12 is a bulky, heavy, awkward weapon that is singularly useless due to ammo requirements.
That said, in its full-auto version it makes for a spectacular display on a darkened indoor range...

a semi auto will shoot faster than you could handle it.
