rule for gun clubs

Are their any rules against having a bunch of friends come over and have shooting competitions weekly? It will be somewhat of a gun club, just more homebrew so to speak.

That would depend on your location I would guess.

Maybe lots o' rules depending on how close the nearest public property is located, what the local zoning laws are, etc. Whether public or private, every permanently located 'gun club' I've ever been associated with has had a lawyer look things over, just to be sure.

Well I'm on private property, and am in the middle of the woods. It's more of a bunch of guys shooting at things together in the woods. Well, what's a good place to get cheap metal or reactive targets.

Google your state and local laws for gun ranges.
Be aware that bullets do leave ranges, at funny angles. Sometimes downrange, sometimes uprange, and sometimes to the sides. If there are folks down range, they have a right not to be shot while sitting on the porch.
