Hearing protection: Sonic Valve II

Has anyone tried this: http://www.earinc.com/p1-filtered-sonicvalve.php
I wouldn't use it as my primary protection, but I'm thinking about getting a set of the generic ones for hunting and when standing near (>20ft) other shooters and talking. If the generic ones work well, I might consider the custom fit models.
These are the ones I'm interested in if the cheaper version proves useful: http://www.earinc.com/p1-filtered-afiltered.php

Thanks for the links, eh?
I use generic ear plugs and muffs both to save what's left of my hearing. Some of my loss is genetic; some of it's the result of being male and middle-aged, and some of it's self-inflicted over the years. Better to lose one's hearing than sight, but...

I use plugs and muffs when I'm shooting, but they don't work well for hunting or when you're not shooting, but near shooters and trying to talk (like waiting around at the trap range for example).

OK I looked all over this sight, they have lots of plugs!!
I have a pair similar to those ones with the valves which do not
impress me. (Like the generic ones).
I can't tell what the NRR is for your choice ($110)
the cheaper ones with the valves don't impress me with the
low NRR. I can't tell what the NRR is for those. And I cant' tell
if they are solid, or with valves.
The plain solid ones (elsewhere in the sight) are probably similar to ones
I have made by my local ENT doc. His audiologist made me
plugs from the temporary mold material they use to send in
for hearing aides and electronic plugs. They work great,
for me better than plain foam plugs. When I am shooting,
tho I like my pro ears. For about the same price you get
better NRR, but they are muffs not plugs.
