I just traded for a nice CZ75b that has already had the "factory customshop" trigger job performed by CZ. I'm really thinking I want better fixed sites......Heinie's or Novak's. Has anyone out there either done it, or had it done.....any experience I can glean from you guys? Any recommended gunsmiths?

Great guns -- I've got several. But sights are a problem area...

The problem is the front sight, which has CZ's unique length-wise dovetail. You've got to find a sight maker that can accomodate that dovetail or can use an existing rear sight compatible with the height of the front sight.

The sight that comes stanard on the PCR model may be compatible with the 75B, and it looks a lot like the Novak -- although the bulk of the sight is in FRONT of the dovetail, rather than to the rear as in the Novak. This link should take you to a picture...

I tried displaying an image, below, but it doesn't seem to work consistently. (The PCR is the Compact model with a "D" added to denote "decocker.")

You can also go to the CZ Forum (WWW.CZFORUM.COM) and check the CZL Links area for info about other sight options

Stephen A. Camp has had it done. I believe Kurt Wickmann installed Novaks on Stephen's CZ.

And here's the thread:

Not the same.

The pre-B 75 that Stephen had the work done to has a different rear dovetail and a staked front sight (no dovetail).

What worked for the 75 won't necessarily work for the 75B. Its the strange front dovetail that's the problem.
