Good Lord, Will Monday ever get here?
6 days left till opening day and I cant hardly take it anymore. Every dove I see flying around I find myself wanting to shoulder my shotgun.
Them birds are in trouble come Monday I tell ya.:D
Anyone else getting excited or am I just going crazy?

I'm wishing Monday would hurry up and get here too. I have a new hunting dog getting her first hunt in and my dad just called me and said they cut the corn today back on the farm. By Monday all the dove will be homing in on the corn restaurant and I'll be welcoming them with number 7 1/2. :)

Got the jitters, too. Got reaquainted with the ol' SXS last weekend. Felt good. Self-propelled targets will make it even better!

I cannot wait! I am leaving Sunday for three nights camping and hunting in the smiling country (Concho County, Texas). I have been getting my gear together all week and getting more excited with every minute.

one more day... Im gonna shoot some skeet and sporting clays tomorrow to hone my skills then I'll be up at the crack of dawn welcoming the doves.
this guy im going with is using some reloads that he made out of a Federal gold metal handicap hull with a triple plus wad, and REX-2 powder, not sure how much but he said they come out to 3 7/8 dram of 1 1/4 oz of buffered copperplated 6's at about 1400 fps. I say over-kill, but he says where were going the birds flush at 75 yards.

Lennyjoe...Nothing like an Arizona dove hunt! 110 birds weighing 110 grams flying 110 mph in 110 degree air!

we went to a wedding lst night and the bride and groom released two white doves. i said quietly " they arnt gonna last" and the guy standing in front of me turned and said "i'll give 'em six months" not thinking i blurted out "hell if i had my gun id shoot 'em right here". the guy looked at me kinda wierd and then glanced over at his wife and wispered "i wish you'd have been at my wedding".

Season started today, I went out with the kids (watching only, too young to hunt). Right away one bird one shot and it was down with the little 20 gauge. Waited about 2 hours and finally got another bird barely inside of 40 yards and missed on 2 shots. By then the kids were bored to death so we came home. Was fun anyway.

Good shooting. Whats your limit out there?
Were stuck to only 10 a day. Just enough to make the bread stink:(
