Remington Factory Service

Has anyone here experienced Remington's warrantee service? I have a 700 that has the scope holes drilled off so the scope doesn't line up even close with the barrel. I had a smith double check my work, and he confirmed what I had noticed. It's actually not that hard to notice, really. Anyway, I've got to send the rifle off to Remington and deal with them. I was wondering what to brace myself for...

Not sure what ya mean by: "smack", but my pal went thru some changes over bad headspace on a Remmy. They maintained that as long as it fired, it met spec, and Remingtons were not designed to fire reloaded ammo, so the condition of once fired brass was immaterial. .308 would close on a field gage, and put brass into case head separation with one firing.
I buy used Remmys, and have good rifles built on the actions anymore...:banghead:

swifter... I hear you buddy. The problem is that it's the action that's hosed. If it were the barrel or something like that, I'd use it as an excuse to upgrade. Unfortunately, since they didn't even build the action right, I don't have a good starting point.
