Ok, yet another question from the noob. I bought some FMJ hollow base bullets. I can't find that specific bullet in any of my reloading books, just FMJ. Does the hollow base change anything? Thanks.

Not really other than having a bullet that has the same external size as a 124 but weighs 115 and could help lessen load density. It could be said that the hollow base could aid in obturation with certain loads, which may be a benefit for pistols with large bore diameters.

So would I load it to a COL for the 124 grain?

I found the Berry's seem to work quite well in 45acp.
This is a 25yd target, trying some loads, with my wrists/hands resting on a sandbag on the bench. I think it will outshoot the shooter.

Edit: BTW, I lost a couple marks near the center of the target. The tear is from the back stop having a large hole behind the paper.

If we are talking about Winchester hollow base, or flat base 115 or 124's I pretty much seat all of them at 1.135"-1.150". WWB seems to have its bullets seated rather close to the max 1.169" limit, and I have never found the need to go over 1.150"... Works for me.

You can use the info for other brand bullets of this weight but any time you change a component start the process over by reducing the powder charge and working your way back up.
The big difference is between jacketed, lead and plated.
