Has anyone ever seen one of these? My neighbor says he has a 32-1 with a 6" barrel blued. Says it fires "38 shorts". He would like to sell it, says he paid $150.00 back in 1965. Anyone know anything about this pistol, how much it's worth?

It fires .38 S&W caliber, not .38 Special. It could bring $200 to $500 depending on the condition, where/to whom he sells it, and if some who would pay top dollar got interested. A fair shooters price would be $300 to $400 for a real nice one, IMHO. I am no where near an expert though. :)

Since you are shown as online here, I'll repeat what I said on the other board:

Model 32 is a Terrier, caliber .38 S&W (NOT "short", just .38 S&W) with two inch barrel. Kind of the predecessor to the Chief's Special.

You say SIX inch barrel. Is that a typo, overall length of the whole gun, or what?

I have a 32-1, but like Jim Watson said, S&W never produced a variant with a six inch barrel. They are neat little guns, but I would not purchase one expecting it to serve as anything other than a collector's piece. Ammo is not cheap, and no decent self-defense ammo is available. If the gun is in very good condition, though, I would probably pick it up for a reasonable price - $300-400, depending on overall condition as well as whether it includes the original box and documents.

My neighbor said he would sell it for $150.00. I may have misundertook him on the 6" barrell. After looking at pictures, it's not that appealing and you say ammo is hard to get. I love to collect guns but, I only buy guns I can carry and shoot.

For $150 I would run over there and buy it. Personally, I like the .38 S&W caliber. It's fun. :)

If it's in good shape I wouldn't pass it up at $150, even if I didn't plan on carrying it. Walkalong is right, .38 S&W is a fun little cartridge. If the gun isn't right for you, pass on it, but I know I wouldn't pass on a S&W for $150.

If the gun isn't right for you, pass on it,Yep, if it is in good shape and a 4 incher, I'll send him the $150 plus shipping. ;)
