For some reason, I'm having alot of trouble finding this ammo locally. And, it seems alot pricier than I remember it. Anybody know of a good source on the internet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I appreciate the quick response, see if anything cheaper comes along, if not, I'll get it.
Any idea why they don't sell that stuff in 50 rd boxes anymore? Jeeez. Box smaller, costs more...(But, it does work well)

I saw over at Ammoman http://www.ammoman.com/ +P+ 9BPLE for $25 for 50 if you're interested in hotter loads.

I have half a case of the +P+. I've used it for years in my Kahr MK9. But, I just got a PM9 and discovered the +P+ beats the snot out of it. It was beating up the barrel hood and slide. We're talking about no more than 50 rounds. Sent the upper back to Kahr, sent me a new slide, barrel and spring. Shot 150 rds of assorted stuff without damage. Tried 30 rounds of +P+ and the battering started again. I can only assume the frame flexes too much on that little gun to handle the hot stuff and I just don't want to beat it up.

How does the +P+ load - 9BPLE - do in a Glock 17, 19, or 26?

An equivalent load to use is the Winchester 115gr JHP White Box. Check out Ammolab, did very well in testing. Has also done well in my informal tests.

Wal-Mart used to carry it. I wish they still did. Excellent accuracy.

This brings up a good subject.

Most retailers want to keep their overhead low, and only stock the "fancy" ammo. You know what I'm talking about - the newest wonder load that that magazines are writing about.

Still, some of the basic, older stuff is great - but it's almost impossible to find on the shelves.

I haven't found a box of 9BP, Federal Classic .357 mag 125grn. SJHP, or Win .38sp+P LSWCHP on the shelves in years. Just Hydra-Shocks, Golden Sabers, Cor-Bon, Gold Dot, and other fancy names.

Wal-Mart has the white box stuff, and that's not too bad. But, is this marketing/stocking trend bothering anyone else?

Rob96-Thank you, I forgot about that one, I just ordered 500 Rnds at 1/2 the price of the Federal stuff. In 50 round boxes no less!!

And, I agree, I cannot find the .357 Federal Classic 125 .357 ANYWHERE here locally. Its always been rated the "ace #1 greatest one shot stopper in the history of handguns"...but, nobody carries it. Thats ridiculous..along with the 20 Rd. boxes. I hate those.

I always kind of thought of ammo like motor oil. One guy swears by Penzoil, one guy swears by Valvoline, but, if you change your oil regularly, they will both do the job just as well. Same with ammo in my opinion. Good ammo from a good manufacturer will pretty much do the job as long as you put it where it needs to go. The new and improved XP500 HydroHollowpointsupervelocityexplodingslug at 75 cents a round (in 20 round boxes) isn't a good value for me if I can't shoot it enough to know it will function in my gun and hits where its supposed to.

I've fired some of the 9BPLE +p+ through my 17, and it handles it fine. In fact, I think that's about the velocity the gun was designed for. It's a little snappy in the 26, but not a mechanical problem.

We have a local shop where you can go in and buy the Remington 115gr+p JHP, Fed 125gr SJHP 357, Remington 155gr JHP in 40S&W. You can buy all the classic stuff along with the new and improved loads.

Hi Guys,

I've seen Federal 9bp in 50 round boxes lately. Packaged under their Classic line in a blue/gray box. About $14/50 rounds IIRC.

Best
