Brand new .22 bolt action. After firing and opening the bolt the empty case remains stuck in the breach. Most of the time it is pulled out about 1/4 of an inch. I have to remove it with a small screw driver. This happens with or without the magazine. I have tried a little light oil and still the same result.. Any suggestions?? Or is it time to send it to a Smith??? Thanks, Dave

Sounds like the hook is not shaped right, or the spring may be too weak, allowing the extractor to ride over the rim. I would send it to Remington, being it is a new gun.

Yeaha, you are right.. I just wanted to try to avoid the sending it back to the factory.. (Even in its crippled state it is still a lot of fun to shoot) Thanks...
