It needs to be updated, but still useful. I dug it up again since I just put money down on a Model 17-4 today. It has the 8+ inch barrel. I like the way the long barrel balances. It does not have the full underlug, or it would be too heavy. Gun is in very good condition - I paid what they were asking. $280. It was on consignment. The same guy brought in a bunch of guns. A Python, Trooper, .22 Diamondback. I would love the Diamondback, but $600 is out of my price range.

I think that's a great price for a VG condition 17-4. I paid $350 for this one NIB last summer.

I predict you're gonna love that longer barrel.

It took me two decades to find a replacement for the model 17 I foolishly sold for a good price in the early 1980s. $280 strikes me as a pretty good price.

I would love to have one in 8 3/8". I have two in six inch and one six inch 617. I would like to rid myself of one 6" and get an 8 3/8"

I notice it's missing the 544.
I only notice this because I'm lining up a buy on one... :D

Yeah, I sat on the fence about one a year ago and it was gone pretty quickly. $20 one way or the other doesn't make much difference to me. I have been wanting a K-22 for a long time. I would have liked an older one, but this one is nice. Will keep looking for a 6" model to go with it. Will post pics once I pay it off. Had to put it on layaway, because just the day before I also put on layaway a Biathlon Basic .22 rifle. Sometimes good things come in waves.
