I've got several pet 1911's, but none have light rails. Is there a way to have rails added, or am I going to have to get another frame?

Run a search for Dawson Precision. Great products!

Dawson Precision makes a great low profile rail. It does require an interface- provided by Dawson- to permit the MilStd 1913 compliant lights to fit their non standard rails.
FWIW, when the MCSOCCOM Det 1 acquired the Kimber ICQB, they gout Dawson Rails on their guns.
That should tell you something.

Dave Dawson is one heck of a machinist and a great guy. Dave does not sell junk. If I were to add a light rail to any gun it would one of Dave's units.

Does it work on aluminum framed pistols like Berettas and alum framed 1911s or should it be left to steel pistols?

mrstang01, are you turning into mrskunk01? :D

Regrettably, this unworthy one can only shine a small light of tacticality compared to the great beacon that is the Skunkabilly.

Skunk,

D. Dawson can help ALL Tactically-inclined pistoleros. Did you want black or stainless?
