Bustamante is probably going to get elected because all the Republican votes are going to get split between Arnold, McClintok, Simon, and the other Republicans running.

The major problem for Republicans in California is the hard line Republican candidates will never be able to pull Democrat voters to their side come election day. Arnold needs to show middle of the road views on issues such as abortion and gun control to be able to get some Democrat voters on his side. Even if he went strictly along Republican party lines, he probably wouldn't get elected because Republicans would still split votes and the number of Registered Democrat voters outnumbers Republicans in California.

This is why a Republican will never replace Feinstein or Boxer as the Senator for California.

Granted, I would like Arnold to come out and say he's anti-gun control, but it would probably destroy his election chances.
