Don't throw away this months NRA envelope

I get a lot of requests for donations from the NRA, and I respond with a check to a lot (not all) of them.
This month the envelope has more than a request for money: it also has postcards made out to local legislators with some comments about not accepting politicians trying to use recent terror events as an excuse for gun control.
All it costs is a few stamps and a few signatures to make some noise and remind the critters that we're out here.
Don't throw away the envelope this time just because you can't afford to make a donation this month !

I sent in my 6 postcards plus the envelope to NRA. I didn't send the ILA any money, though I have in the past. I didn't because I am unsure how much of my money goes for the cause and how much for overhead.

Actually, I kinda enjoy reading anything from the NRA. I always open the envelopes and read, usually I send in what they're asking me to. The endless requests for money don't put me off - c'mon, with almost the entire mainstream press against us, the NRA needs all the help it can muster.
Still, I DO wonder how much of my 21 bucks goes to 'the cause' and how much goes for salaries. Or is that an incorrect perspective? After all, the NRA people have to live, and they are (basically) working for us and our cause.

I just got a letter from them yesterday, but it was only a new card and time ro re-up. I haven't seen this one yet, but if I do, I'll be sure to do the right thing.

I always send post cards; I usually send checks, too. They're not large checks, but they help a little.

Realistically speaking, aren't the postcards considered to be nothing more than form letters by the congressional staffers, and then automatically discounted as nothing to pay attention to?

Tossed it as all the postcards are to my state legislators (not national) and except for the current round of redistricting sessions, the legislature won't meet to consider gun-related issues until 2005.
Not much point in sending a postcard now and hoping they remember it two years from now.
I also didn't send money to the NRA because I am trying to get them focused on the AWB. When they write about killing the AWB, I send money. When they don't, I blow them off. Since they don't listen to anything else, I hope that maybe they listen to this.
If I want the money to be used well, I usually send it to SAF or TSRA.

I don't know if they automatically toss them as the equivalent of form letters, but I figure that for less than two dollars I'm reminding them that we're out here, and that we're watching them.

I sent the NRA-PVF a note saying that I won't donate to them any more because they give money to the GOP . . . they don't just give money to pro-gun Republican candidates, but to the the party directly.
There are 'way too many RINOs out there, many of which have voted against my interests, for me to give to the party at large; I don't want one red cent going to an "anti" even if he is a member of the GOP; I want my money going to SPECIFIC candidates that will vote for me, rather than against me.
