I recently had the chance to shoot an issued weapon off of the Navy van at the Nationals in the 1000 Yd match (Wimbledon Cup) This was a Rem 721 in 300 Win Mag, with a Leupold MK4 16X w/target dot and side focus.
I am pondering building one of my own, and wondering what other good quality scopes would work in this application.
I just bought a Tasco Super Sniper 20X and returned it due to the Mil Dot reticle looking about as fine as a telephone pole through a paper towel roll tube.
So, 1000 yd paper target snuffers, what do you use? If the only suitable answer is that Leupold, I'll just have to save up a little (OK, a lot!) more.....

Scopes are first rate...company politics are seriously messed up...kinda on the steep end of the price scale. PM me if you wanna know more.

Best advice I can offer is
A) get the best scope you can afford;
B) get an adjustable objective. Parallax problems aren't friendly at 1k.

No wonder they're called the benchrester's best-kept secret!

Unfortunately, it's a poorly-kept secret, as I watch their prices continue to climb, approaching the Leupolds. :(
