Esheato over at the 1911 forum had a thread like this. I'm sure it's been done over here too.

There are are nine (9) things wrong with this XD.

Hope you have fun finding them!

:)

note - one is VERY very hard to find.

ITs loaded too. At least according to its "Loaded Chamber Indicator"

MattK -

Since you picked up on that so quickly ... I will let you know that's a hint

Mag release is backwards.

I'm not real familiar with the XD though, so that's about all I'm good for.

1. XP on the slide is moved forward.

2. XP logo is missing on the grip.

3. Arms instead of Armory.

4. Serial number missing off of the slide.

5. Mag release isn't textured correctly.

6. Bevel by the rail is missing.

7. IO instead of IL.

8. Lug at the end of the slide isn't showing.

The only thing I could see is it's a 9 MM. That's wrong because real pistols have bullet diameters about a tenth of an inch bigger than that.:neener: :D

If the chamber is loaded then the striker indicator should be out....

There is a little patch at the bottom of the grip panel that says SA XD that is missing....

The aforementioned trigger safety....

Springfield Arms vs. Springield Armory....

XD Logo in wrong place on slide....

The Sprinfield Inc, Ge. Io thing....

No serial number on the slide....

The front slide serrations might be wrong....

Incorrect serial on barrel, but that might not be one of them...

The mag release is right (it's ambi and textured that way) so that's not one of them...

Jeez. Gotta get home and get mine out :)

The nubbins is missing from the rear of the slide.

The one big problem I see is that the picture is missing from my view.

Stinking LAN firewall...

Not always the case. The trigger could have been pulled with a snap cap in the chamber.

Ah ... lets not get too philosophical about it!

Lets assume this is a standard, stock, live-loaded gun.

You guys are completely on the right track with it. There is at least one (or two) things that I thought were obvious that may or may not have been mentioned yet.

So much for second guessing the sharp eye of others ...

and here I thought I was clever....

Holy crazy trickiness, batman. It's been shortened. Like, the height is still correct but it's not long enough. Wow.

Also, the "Springfield Inc" thing, aside from saying "Springfielo", should read "Springfield Inc. Geneseo, IL."

If you've got an XD, hold it up to the screen. On my screen, at least, it's exactly to scale :)

Using t_t's initial list,

1. XP on the slide is moved forward. (Smaller font size.)

2. SA·XP logo is missing on the grip.

3. Arms instead of Armory.

4. Serial number missing off of the slide.

5. Relief above rail slots chopped over.

6. From the angle shown, the serrations in front of the guard should just be visible.

7. GE IO instead of IL. (Different size font.)

8. Striker indicator not showing.

9. Trigger safety blade depressed.

10. Sights have been chopped lower.

I believe the caliber designation on the barrel is incorrect. Is that it?

The damned thing is made out of plastic!

Well, I let it sit over the holiday ... so I guess I'll give the answer now:

1. light rail altered

2. "XD" on barrel moved

3. No serial number

4. Company named changed to "Arms", rather than "Armory"

5. Grip logo gone

6. Trigger safety gone

7. Company state changed to "ID" from "IL".

8. There is a round in the chamber (chamber indicator) but cocked indicator is missing.

9. Front site lengthened.

I hope you all had fun with it. :)

I looked at it and the first thought that popped into my head was "You know, all these plastic poppers really do look an awful lot alike..." :uhoh: ;)
