I have a rossi r46102. It's a .357, holds 6 shots, and has a 2" long barrel. The problem is, it isn't a really popular revolver. And I'm looking for a good IWB holster for it. I'm wanting to get a comp-tac gurkha, but it doesn't have it as an option. Does anyone have this gun? And does anyone know what a good kydex holster for it is? Thanx

That's a tough one. It looks like a S&W "j" frame with a six shot cylinder. If no such beast exists, you might see if anyone close by has a holster made for the 2" Model 19 that you could try out first hand, though I'm afraid one of those will swallow your Rossi. You might consider asking some folks on several forums if S&W ever made a 6 shot revolver based on the "J" series frame.

I own a 461 Rossi, and here is what I have discovered thru trial and several errors. In the hard kydex holsters, there is nothing really close to fitting the 461.
However, in leather holsters, most of the J frame, without the metal bands to keep holster open will fit the Rossi. After a few days in the holster it will fit even better. You can even rush it a bit by holstering the gun, in the plastic bags that some holsters come in, or a zip lock freezer bag, and stuffing it in the holster over night.
Rossi is of course made by Taurus, so a holster for the Model 85 will work too.

Thanks, that helps a lot. What would you recommend for a carry round? Right now I have Federal Hydra Shocks. But I was wondering if there is a better carry round.

Perhaps a holster sized for the Colt Detective special might fit?

It might. I don't know. I can't seem to find the specs. on it. Do you know where I could find them? (on the colt website I can't find it. But I'm probably looking in the wrong place)

I am personally running CCI Blazer Aluminum 158 JHP, and some 158 FMJ from Remington, when I shoot 38's.

Neither has given me any problems. I have run the Blazer Aluminum in 45 colt also.

K frame holsters are a little loose and fit around the trigger guard seems wrong to me. But IWB, it probably would not be a problem.

Thanks. I'll have to look into that. Now, I'm also considering getting night sights for it. What would you recommend: Heinie Straight 8's, or xs sights?

Look for a K-frame sized holster. It will work for your 461/2.

I found the holster I'm getting now. It's a K&D Cochise Defender. I emailed them and told em' what my gun was, and he said that I the one made for the Taurus 85 will fit it. So I'll have it in 14-16 weeks. :P

I just bought a Rossi 462, and a colt Police Positive (similar to the detective special. They are very similar in size. The cylender is identical, the frame dimensions are really close except in the are of the crane hinge. the rossi is a bit beefier here. the Rossi seems like a beefed up colt d-frame. I would try to find a colt detective special holster.
