What is the proper way to have your sig when you are carrying? Bullet in the chamber? Full magazine in the gun with no bullet in chamber? Since there is no external safety you can't exactly carry in cocked and locked...Help please

Bullet in cartridge, cartridge in chamber, hammer decocked with the lever provided. Double action first shot, single action thereafter.
EXCEPT: Sig Sauer also makes Double Action Only and DAK preloaded double action. They are never cocked, long trigger pull for every shot.
Sig Sauer is also now making a few guns in Single Action Only with proper thumb safeties.
Know what you are getting.

Jim Watson nailed it. There are different variants offered for Sig pistols, so make sure you understand what you have and how it works, especially if it's one designed to be carried specifically as single action.
I have carried various Sigs over the past 14 years, and they are all carried the same way: fully loaded magazine with a round in the chamber. Decock lever is used EVERY single time to lower the hammer once the round is chambered. It is perfectly safe to carry this way as long as you use the decock and never try to thumb the hammer down.

Whichever trigger/safety action you get, it is appropriate and safe (for the intended user, when used as intended) to carry it with a chambered round. If it is not ready to go when you need it, it makes for a rather poor club. ;)

Yep. P239 IWB in a CTAC, or in a SmartCarry, to be more specific.

Chambered, decocked, mag topped off. Why not, it doesn't need an external safety any more than a revolver does. Draw, align sights, squeeze trigger. Works every time.
