I compromised and got my XD9 a few months back intending to use it in USPSA Production and a little random shootin' at the range. I got a smokin' deal on a maybe-used-hard-to-tell gun (I stripped it next to a NIB one, and mine actually looked a little newer!) and have so far been pretty happy.
After a little less than 300 rounds, my Striker Retainer Pin (Part #35 on the Slide Part List in the manual) has a little chip coming off the top. Normally, no big deal. I call Springfield and then the hell started.
The first woman I talked to said she had to talk to a tech and would call me back. She didn't. I called back and talked to someone who was unwilling to help me, saying she wanted to make sure the other woman hadn't done anything yet. I informed her that the first woman had said she was just going to talk to the tech and call me right back. The techs had gone home by this point and Woman #2 couldn't help me. I told her exactly which part it was, and could she please send me out a new one right away? She put me on hold for a while, and then told me yes, it'd be there in a few weeks.
Well, I had a match scheduled for this weekend and the weekend after, but I guess I'm out of commission for a while. Then, the next morning I get a call from a completely different woman saying that the techs changed their minds, can't figure out what is going on, and I need to send my gun in for service. Turn around time? "Oh, at least two weeks, I think". I told her I had matches scheduled and that this was my competition gun and was offered an insincere apology.
I'm not very happy with their customer service, and to tell the truth I'm not that happy with the gun. It feels good in my hand, and yeah, it shoots well, but I'm just not very accurate with it. It doesn't point as well as I thought it did... I think I just had a weird grip that day in the store. All things considered, I think I would be happier with a different gun...
Therefore, when it gets back from the shop, I think I'm going to try to sell it.
That was the rant portion of this post. Now comes the question part! It's been difficult for me to determine the market value of a used XD recently... prices are all over the place, and not many people are selling them anyway.
I have the XD-9, no factory box or lock, but a different box and Master lock. I've got a Fobus holster (on the way, be here tomorrow), and a total of 5 mags... 4x 10rd 9mm and 1x .40s&w, which holds 15 rounds of 9mm. Also have an Uncle Mike's Kydex Double Mag paddle pouch. I'd want to sell it as a package.
Are people out there looking? Is this a bad time to be selling guns? Seems like nobody is selling right now...
