Well after 4 trips to the indoor ranges trying different guns,
we have decided on the SP101 for mom. I would like to know
if there were ever any 3 inch guns made with adj sights?

Also if anyone knows of a good indoor range in the Corona, Riverside
area for purchase/training/practice that info would be great.

Thanks,
Jay

Except for the discontinued four-inch .22 LR version that had a crudely windage- adjustable rear sight (a blade sliding sideways in a groove after loosening a set screw), no SP101 has ever had adjustable sights, to my knowledge.

Smith & Wesson has made - and may still make - three-inch .38 Specials and .357 Magnums on the small five-shot J-frame. These had/have their standard fully adjustable, micrometer-click rear sight.

Lone,

She shot the Smith J and larger frames, GP and SPs
SP101 really gave her a warm fuzzy as far as how it
felt in her hand, seemed to be one issue or another
with all the rest.

This is what she needs........laser grips !! Adjustable for windage and elevation:

The SP-101 with adjustables (windage only) was made on the .22lr version as well as the .32 H&R Magnum, both of those have been discontinued but still show up on the used market. Currently Ruger is putting the adjustable on the new .327 Federal Magnum version but it's not yet approved for California.

Any idea of when CA would do that?
a watch list or something? If she is purchasing soon
it might be worth waiting if there was some idea
of when it might happen.

I had crimson trace grips on a 640 years ago.
I know cost is somewhat of an issue and can
add the CT later to a fixed sight gun.

Teach her the "point and shoot" method at 7 yards and forget about sights. Sights on a snub are about as useless as breasts on a boar hog...Better yet, get her a 20ga DB shotgun and no BG will argue with her.

Ronto,

First thing I suggested was a shotgun, she declined.
Better to have something she likes and will shoot regularly
is what i'm thinking.
