Anyone have an opinion on these? A local shop has one for a good price (I think). It is the 6" model. I don't know anyone who has had one. It looks a lot better than Smith's current .22 auto (model 41 excepted!).

I recently purchased a 6" S&W model 422. I think the 2206 is the same gun except all stainless instead of blued/alloy.
I've only put about 200 rounds thru mine, but it hasn't hiccuped a single time.
Good luck.

I've had one for several years now, don't shoot it as much as my Model 17's but I really like it . It's never given me any problems at all. The 2206 is all stainless so it tends to be a little heavier than the alloy framed ones. If I can find a 4"er to go with my 6" I will snap it up also. I heard the reason Smith stopped making them was not enough profit margin, not for any problems.
