Got a remote pressure switch for a light mounted on my shotgun. It came with a small strip of double sided tape to attach it to the gun. The tape did not hold up for long. Before I go through a lot of trial & error looking for a better way, what have some of you here used that worked?

Thanks,

Velcro tape.

I recently bought a tail cap switch with remote pad from AimSHOT that works for the Xenon Illuminator, the Surefires 6P and C, Z series, and in my Pelican M-6.
The switch is good, but the tape that comes with it is lousy.

Some models of pressure pads came with a double sided foam tape (that is also used to attach shower caddys) that is really a bad tape.
The sticky Velcro tape came in a double row of male /female and is very strong when cured for 24 hours.

However it could work loose in high humidity/high temperature enviroments, if you are in such, further secure it with a rubber band.

DO NOT USE TAPE! Velcro eithers! Find a bicycle inner tube and cut it up! That is actually what all the newest tacticool folks are using :D. Just kidding, but serious though, inner tube is somehwat elastic and holds great. Velcro will lose its ability to hold under heat.

Go to your friendly auto body shop or auto parts store and get some 3M VHB Trim Tape.

If it will hold rocker panels & door trim on a car forever, it should hold a pressure switch on an AR-15 forever too.
