FAL Broken Return Spring Guide

I just recently converted my Standard Imbel uppered Frankenfal to a Para, using all DSA parts. I fired it for the first time two days ago, and on the last round of the first Mag, the return spring guide broke in 3 or 4 places (I'm not sure exactly how many places because when I opened the reciever, everything flew out the back into the woods, and I never did find all the broken bits). Any thoughts on why this would happen? Is it likely I put something together wrong, or should I be asking DSA for free stuff.
I'm not the sharpest cookie in the drawer, but I'm pretty sure I did everything right.

When you did the conversion, you did use a Para bolt carrier? The standard rifle bolt carrier won't work with the Para top cover and guiderod/spring setup.

I did use a Para Bolt Carrier. New Parts I used:
-DSA Extreme Duty Para Scope Mount
-DSA Para Bolt Carrier w/sand cuts
-DSA Para Hampton Lower
-DSA Para folding stock with AR buffer tube
-DSA Para return spring set
-DSA Ambi safety
Everything else is either Imbel or Stg stuff.
