Iím trying to determine the value of a recently acquired Colt Government Model 1911 .45 ACP. Itís a COLT MK IV-SERIES 80. Blued, Colt walnut grips with Colt logo (no wear at all), two pristine Colt factory mags with Colt logo. It came with the original box and manual. The box has a lot of wear, I guess thatís where it was stored.
This pistol is like new. No blemishes whatsoever, beautiful Colt blue. I doubt that itís ever been fired or even field stripped .
Serial number FG20XXX.
Any help is appreciated.

obligatory "the thing is junk; I'll give you $20 to take it off your hands".

http://gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.asp?SearchResults.asp?SearchType=0&Keywords=colt+Mk+IV+series+80 -- looks like they're going for around $400-$700, up to $900-$1000 for really pristine models.

That would sell retail in this area in the $650 range.

$650 would be the price for a pristine Series 80 Government model in this area.
