I noticed a flintlock pistol for sale on Gunbroker, made by Hy Hunter. It's .90 cal..
Has anyone ever seen one of these? Is it supposed to be loaded as a shotgun, or round ball, and would I need forearms like a gorilla to shoot it? I haven't heard of this company before and I'm curious.
Thanks
Bill

I found Tower pistols that have been made and imported in up to .69 caliber in the past and this also looks like a type of Tower pistol.
While it's possible that the description is accurate, I doubt that it actually is .90 caliber though. I think that the seller simply made a mistake because the pistol in the photo just doesn't appear to have that large of a bore diameter.

Anyway here's some pictures of it and the auction link:

I found another one on gunbroker with a quarter laying in front of the barrel. The bore, and the quarter, are about the same size.

That's gonna leave a big hole.

I didn't know Hy Hunter imported any black powder arms so I don't know any thing about those.
I do know about the single action six guns they imported. Cheap made. The complete gun is made of alloy with metal inserts in the barrel and chambers. Change the barrel, cylinder, and the firing pin to go from rimfire to centerfire.

Thanks Lee, from its looks I wasn't sure if it was a wall hanger. Guess it is, whether it was meant to be or not.

When compared to the size of the quarter, the bore does look to be .90 caliber.
Cheaply made or not, that makes it a pretty rare bird.
