Hello guys!

Just got a new job and I am ready for a new gun!

I used to own a glock 25 in .380 that I sold, and now I am thinking towards an upgrade in caliber..a friend who is in the Peruvian Air force has offered me his beretta 92fs in 9mm for 500 dollars..down here glocks sell for 777.70, so, which one should I get??

Even though here in peru 9mm is banned for civilian use, I can get a license since now I am working for the goverment.

In the 9mm guns, I can get the beretta, or a browning hi-power.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions....

Let's see...

Is the 25 the one that's the same size as the 19/23/32? If so, I'd go with the Beretta or the Hi-Power; 9mm beats .380 ten ways from Sunday in a belt-size gun.

Between the Hi-Power and the Beretta, it'd depend on the Hi-Power. If it was a nice FN, I'd probably go with it (more for aesthetics than any real mechanical reason), otherwise I'd take the 92FS. The 92 may not be very svelte, but it's feed-reliable as all getout.

There will be significant difference in anything you get vs. the Glock you had. I would go w/ the BHP if the pricing isn't much different than the 92fs you can get ;)

Tamara:

Thanks you for your answer, I hear a lot of people talking about you and your guns in a lot of threads..I will take your advice with great honor.

Yes, I know that most weapons feel really different from glocks (before I sold, I also had a Baikal (russian Makarov in .380 acp)....

Now for both of you...are the both BHP and 92F good guns that can take daily carry?? (by that I mean not to obstrusive when carrying in con 3 israeli mode) I usually carry from and to work, and love to go to the country to shoot a lot...I know that many police officers here use beretta 92f as their reglamentary weapon, but I have only seen 2 BHP in my life...I shot it and it works GREAT!!!!

Thanks in advance for all your help!!! I guess i will get the BHP if it is cool to carry for a time period of around 4 hours a day!!!

For what it's worth, I'll be getting the 92FS for a duty gun. I had hoped for a Glock but the used condition was a tad too beat up for me -- and none other available to choose from. I decided on the Beretta because I have two already in the 92FS compacts -- this one will be a full size gun. I like it for the simplicity, handling and accuracy. It's really up to you but I much prefer the Classic Beretta to most other (even more expensive) guns.

Voroadking: I can get almost any 9mm pistol that my country has used for military purposes.

That includes (but not limited to):

Beretta
Browning HP
Star
Astra
All the ones made in argentina
Most of the ones made by FN Herstal

Given those choices..which one would you pick (pics appreciated)
