That is a beautiful thing.

There's a point where a tool becomes a piece of art, but is still so perfectly designed that it remains a tool. :)

I REALLY like my LB also. Fantastic guns!

Mine never had a malf but it took about 1000 rounds to be really broken in. Now it really, REALLY feels as slick as goose grease.

Congrats, Les Baer makes one of the best 1911s you can buy.

By looking at the spent bullet you can just tell it had to come out of a Les Baer.

Nice, can we see the box it came in? Are they cardboard like I read on Glocktalk?

Yes, a Les Baer with an inch and a half guarantee is on my wish list but they don't spend any extra on packaging.:)

Ever think that Les uses his now "famous" triangle-box in case the owner needs to send their gun back to him?

FWIW, own 1 1/2" P-IIT has been back once in 12+ years.

GT Weenies can guess what it was sent back in!:what:

Yeah my TRS just came in a POS cardboard box. It didn't even have another box protecting it. Pretty lame if you ask me. The gun is great, but the box is dumb. It was actually quite embarrassing because the gun shop owner(who transferred the Baer) is a kimber guy. All the guy could say was "nothin like a kimber".

All of the Baer pistols are great.

I have never shot one, but I hear they are wonderful.

Which is better Baer or Wilson?

Thekan, in your first picture, it looks like the rear sight is tilted radically to the right. Is it mounted "square" on the gun or is it the camera (or me) that makes it look tilted?

"...the gun shop owner...is a kimber guy. All the guy could say was "nothin like a kimber"."

Of course it's "nothin like a Kimber"!

Kimbers are "Bling-Bling" Guns, always the latest & greatest edition, shiny, pistol with gimmick cosmetics, like, wretch, :barf: their "SIS" "Glitz-Gun". :barf:

ha, yeah it really bugged me. He was just upset because I no longer buy guns from behind his counter.

He also made another jab...he said something like "The guy can't even spell bear correctly, Les B-A-E-R?"

Oh well, I know I have a better gun than anything kimber produces.

I know I have a better gun :)

Sometimes the Bear eats you & sometimes the {your} Baer eats him.....

As if you don't know.....now have a "Lifetime" 1911, one that can be handed down or passed along to a Son or Grandson!

Classic 1911's never go out of style......

My gun dealer sells a lot of Kimbers and stocks them along with some other mid level 1911s, because he doesn't sell many higher end guns. He has no trouble facilitating my purchases of higher end guns. He is not dismissive or critical. He knows what is good and he knows what sells. He's in business to make money. One of my friends has had a Kimber for a number of years. I expect he'll have his out this evening shooting bowling pins against my 1.5" PII. I expect to beat him. And the guy with the SA, and the guy with the 220. We'll see what works for who and go from there. The guy with the PII and the red dot sight is a problem for me..............
