Hey im looking into getting a Glock 17, but im only 5'6" and 150lbs. Im wondering if its comfortable to carry all day or should i look into a G19 or G26?

It sounds like it would be best if you got one of the more compact ones, especially with what the summer weather is like in VA.

I'm just about your size (5'5'' and 125) and I have a G19. The 17 is plenty light, but difficult to conceal. If open carry is your main mode of defense I'd say go for it. If not, I'd say go for the G26. Maybe I'm just being too metro, but I can never make the polo shirt/G19 combo work without an unsightly buldge. However, with a baggy t-shirt and/or a hoody, I can make it disappear. Although, I'm usually carrying my PPK, all around more comfortable with almost as much firepower.

Conceled? Not so much. But for duty it is fine. IMO get the 19, best Glock ever!

Ihave carried both the G17 and a G19. Did not notice the G19 being that much easier.
At your size the G26 just may be the way to go.
But what do I know, I carry a full size 1911!

I usually carry the Glock 17 throughout the year with no problems at all. Of course, at 6'2"/225 lbs., I have some lattitude available to me in that choice. I can even get away with a fullsize HK USP45 under an unbuttoned shirt on a summer's day if I wish to do so.
While I have carried the 19 occasionally and find the 17 no harder to conceal in the same circumstances that I would employ the 19, it is nice to have the longer grip, extra two rounds and longer sight radius offered by the 17.
How the 17 fits you will certainly differ from how it fits me, so you'll have to find what works for you and go with that.
I am a strong believer in the concept that one should carry as much gun as possible.

I am 6'3" and 225 pounds. I compete with a G17, but I carry the G19 in the winter and a G26 in the summer. The best all around gun of the three is the G19.
