Looking at the Sierra manual the load data for .357 158 gr jsp starts at 7.0 gr of W231.

I have 158 gr LSWC so I backed off and made 50 of 6.7 gr W231 oal 1.585.

Just pulled up Hogdons web site and they have listed load data for the 158 gr LSWC betwee 3.4 upto 5.0.(...WHAT?)

Nothing like looking a little late. I wanted a very soft shooting plinking load...doesn't look like thats the case

Do I need to pull these or does anyone think this is OK. Shooting out a Ruger SP and a GP...HELP

6.7 grains with a 158 cast lead bullet is a .357 Magnum Maximum load for sure.

Lee #2 shows it as a Maximum load, giving 1,275 FPS, and 42,500 CUP.

The Speer is a soft lead swaged bullet with no grease grooves.
It can't be loaded as hot as a cast-lead bullet.
