Gunman Kills Man, Himself At Nashville Business
Posted: 08/29/2003 1:52:11 PM

Friday, Metro Police were at Electric Picture Company, 2844 Logan Street, in south Nashville where a gunman killed an employee and then committed suicide.

A SWAT team medic confirmed that one employee at the business was murdered by a gunman, police spokesman Don Aaron reported at 1:15 p.m.

Aaron said at 1:44 p.m. that SWAT team members had located the gunman dead inside a restroom. The man killed himself.

The gunman, Thomas Harrison, 44, Nashville, entered the building between 11-11:30 a.m. looking for a woman who worked at the business.

Aaron said Harrison was arrested and charged June 3 with rape and aggravated kidnapping of the woman.

When an employee of the business tried to escort Harrison out of the building, Harrison pulled a gun and began firing, Aaron said.

Several people were able to escape the building when the shooting began, police said. Police cleared the rest of the employees a short time later.

The woman the gunman was looking for was able to escape the business.

The company rents video production and lighting equipment.

Logan Street is located off of Thompson Lane, near St. Edwards School. The school was locked down by police.

I used to work in that area of town when I lived there.

Not a great neighborhood to begin with if you ask me.

I feel bad for the person he killed.

At least the BG had the courtesy to take himself out of the gene pool though.

Jeebus H, can't we get through one day without one of these?

I would like to believe that its just being played up because of the AWB bill, but d**n, I can't help thinking there's some serious copycatting going on!

The only thing a restraining order is good for is to establish a history of violence by the goblin. This afternoon here in Nashville, a man who was under a restraining order broke into the worskplace of his former girlfriend and killed an employee and later ,himself. There were 19 other employees in the building and none had the means to stop this monster, because undoubtedly no firearms were allowed in the building. Only armed men are free.

some excon with a rape charge...

Oh. Another poster boy for parole and probation, eh? Another "success story," as it were.

Aaron said Harrison was arrested and charged June 3 with rape and aggravated kidnapping of the woman.

Not enough guns in the work place, I'd say, and nothing even like common sense in the criminal justice system.

yup he had some conviction on rape for the woman he was going to see. and multiple counts of domestic abuse i believe. they gave a list of 3 or 4 things he had on his record.

they found him in the bathroom with a self inflicted wound. had to knock the door down....

the part of town it is, isnt the highest quality area. so no telling who or why tho

well if anything else we can say atleast they cant say much on this. he was using a pistol. and a few "friends" argue that a society without weapons is one we want......then we are slaves to those with weapons

During his life, he did one thing right. Too bad he try it sooner. Consider him rehabilitated.
