Rifle used is a 1942 M39 B barrel, with a new bore (minus what I've put thru it :D). No optics, stock iron sights only. Targets @ 100 yards, rifle on sandbags.
About 1pm this afternoon, bright sun, minimal breeze, temp 101F.

The loads-
PRVI 7.62x54r once fired (in my rifle) brass, CCI200 LR primers, Sierra ProHunter .311dia 180gr SP, AccurateArms 4350 powder.

Fired 2 groups of 3 w/ 48gr powder, and 2 groups of 3 w/ 50gr. The 50gr loading was recommended by fellow on the Surplusrifleforum, 1stShot.

Results-
Shot the 50 grainers first after a couple of fouling shots with factory ammo.
First group fell in @ 2-1/2 inches. COALS were 3.010, 3.010, 3.015. Last shot was higher than the other two.
Second group hit at 2-3/16". COALS were 3.009, 3.010, 3.009.
Next up the 48gr loadings.
First group hit at 1-13/16". COALS were 3.015, 3.015, 3.013.
Second group took the day with a 1-5/8" grouping. COALS were 3.010, 3.010, 3.0105.

:) So I'm a happy camper! Today is the first time I've ever managed sub 2MOA with this rifle. My goal is to match the 1-1/2" requirement the Finnish army put on all new M39's accepted into service at that time. The 50gr. loads did shoot well, but this rifle apparently prefers a slightly lighter loading.

I will post pics of my targets when I figure where the digital camera is hiding.
