I have been trying to thin out my lever action collection.I wanted to keep just one lever [for my own reasons].I don't hunt anymore,except for coyotes.I do a lot of paper punching.I FINALLY got the one lever I really like due to its accuracy [for me]My choice is the marlin 41 mag.I could go on and on about my reasoning but thats my business.I did a search on the 41 mag and got a lot of pages about how many of you like the 41.What I am looking for now is info on reloads.I use oregon trail 215 lead heads with IMR 4227.15.5 gr gives around 1 1/2 " at 50 yards.This is the best shooting lever I have ever had.How about sharing your 41 loads?Thanks all.

For varmit work with that gun I'd load up a bunch of speer 200 grain half-jacket hollow points in front of a stiff charge of Vit n110. Kinda pricey, low volume load.

But it should be accurate to the best of that guns ability, should also be extremely clean, and very consistant over the chrono, regardless of weather conditions.

Blue dot has worked well for me in revolvers but it can get finicky when pushed or dealing with temperature extremes.

Plinking/small game 215 gr LSWC over 8 grains of unique. Runs about 1000 fps. Groups 1" (as much my eyes as anything else) at 50 yards from my Marlin lever. Recoil is almost non-existant.

I've been using Hornady 210 grain XTP bullets and Winchester 296. My two Marlins in .41 both shoot great with this combination, but I've been experimenting with heavy for caliber bullets in my Marlin .357 carbines and Hodgdon's Lil'Gun. The results have been remarkable, so I'm thinking of changing to Lil'Gun for the .41's and see what happens.

+1 on 296 for the .41 mag, it's the chicken soup of powder for this cartridge.

210gr Remington JSP and 210gr Nosler JHP.

They are cheap and work well in my blackhawk.

I use the min. load for H110 from Nosler book for hot load @ 19gr.

I use 8gr of w231 for light load.

Roll crimped.

I have Remington, Winchester and Starline brass. I bet the Starline brass will last as long or longer than the Blackhawk. It is thick!

For coyote and smaller, try hot 170 gr. JHPs. Try 'em.
