I'm getting ready to order some spare parts to store in the stock of my mossberg, and I'm not sure what to order, as i don't know what parts are likely to break.


can anyone assist me? Does anyone here have experience with mogssbergs in departmental situations where there are lots of them? any input on what i should put in the buttstock would be helpful as well.

If you want keep a 500 going no matter what keep a complete spare bolt handy, typical failures I have seen and caused have been locking lug and firing pin breakage. The safety button is the only other common failure I have seen.

Replace the safety button with a metal one - put a firing pin and a set of extracters , with one extracter spring & pin in the stash and you should be good to go. :D
