I just saw this image which appears to show a pair of G3 or HK91 type rifles with curved magazines.

What is up with this? I haven't seen mags like this on a G3 ever before.

Those look like HK93s, or whatever number designation those particular variants are, which are 5.56 NATO. The one in the foreground appears to have the all plastic one piece Navy lower, or some variant thereof.

I've got 30rd and 40rd mags for the G3 and they haver a much straighter profile. I think the gun there is not a G3 in 7.62x51, but rather a variant of the HK52/32 in 7.62x39.
edited to add...
The one they'e holding appears to be an HK53 in 5.56, but the curvature on the 53/33 mags is not as pronounced as on the one on the table.

Yeah, I'd be good on that.

Were any factory mags made with a capacity of more than 20 rounds? All the 30-40 rounders I have seen seem to be a bit cobbled together.

I think HK made a 30rd mag, but never put it into production; just a prototype (I've only seen pics). The ones I have are cobbled together 20's, but they do work remarkably well.

Looks like some kind of H&K32 series...
