Bezoar July 28, 2008, 04:56 PM Are they actually FULL SIZE replicas as the boxes say? Got to look at some today to see what fit my hand andim kinda wondering.
If they are real size, i must have some huge MEDIUM size mitts because..
Witness "elite" 1911 as "used by target shooters in competitions", barely gave me enough room to get my finger in the trigger guard, and i could barely get my hand all the way on the grip.
Colt M1911A1, trigger guard had better room for me, but still had a hard time getting all my fingers on the grip, they all went on but not comfy though.
Beretta 92, to chunky and to wide for good grip.
Taurus 24/7, kinda small for me.
Am i a mutation, or just normal?

Thernlund July 28, 2008, 05:01 PM Sig makes airsoft training guns that very very closely resemble the real thing.

Some others are just junk. YMMV.

Matt-J2 July 28, 2008, 05:10 PM Some are, some aren't. The better airsoft guns that most accurately replicate size, weight, and balance of their real counterparts are noticeably more expensive. So much so that everything but the orange tip would lead you to believe it was real, including the pricetag.
Thernlund July 28, 2008, 05:13 PM So much so that everything but the orange tip...
On that note, I'm told (by an airsoft vendor) that only imported airsoft guns require the orange tip. Domestically manufactured airsoft guns do not require them.

Odd Job July 28, 2008, 05:14 PM I got a KJW Sig P226 replica and it is definitely the same size as the original, because I got a Comp-Tac holster for it, and it fits perfectly.
Now if anybody asks me why I got that airsoft pistol and that holster, I will have to come and kill them because that is my uber super deluxe tactical kit, and nobody messes with me while I own that :neener:
Matt-J2 July 28, 2008, 05:21 PM Ahhh, thanks Thernlund. Been a number of years since I've really looked at them and couldn't remember if they all had to have the tip or not.
9mmepiphany July 28, 2008, 05:54 PM their accuracy, as to size, does vary with manufacturers.
as mentioned, the KJW 226 and 229 are very accurate to the real guns and only run about $100

Dont think so but ok. I had a Mark23 with a metal slide and barrel and mock supressor. No orange tip and it had all the markings of the real H&K. It was also around 700 bucks when I was done with it.
If you want something that will be dead on to the real thing then look into a company called Tokyo Mauri. My Mark23 and my M4 were made by them. The M4 also had all of the colt trademarks. I got out of airsoft cause It started costing as much or more than real guns. I could have gotten an XD and a 870 for the price of my MK23.

That's just what I heard.

9mmepiphany July 28, 2008, 06:28 PM i believe import laws require that the guns come in with the orange tip.
nothing says they need to stay orange...unless you have a local ordinance...once you have them
BullpupBen July 28, 2008, 10:37 PM -there are no domestically manufactured airsoft guns, except one or two tiny companies making high end guns.
A cheap $20 springer -like the ones endorsed by Sig that was linked too- might not be very close to the real thing, but a gun from a high quality company like Western Arms, Tokyo Marui, KSC/KWA will be real almost to the millimeter.
If you have any questions feel free to msg me.
9mmepiphany July 28, 2008, 10:48 PM the Sig air soft pistols aren't springers...they run on green gas
Matt-J2 July 28, 2008, 11:00 PM And that would haven obvious by clicking the link...
Poor East Texan July 28, 2008, 11:11 PM I have mostly springers with a few gas guns thrown in.
My nicest springer BY FAR is me Marui S&W PC356 that has no orange tip and will fool you until you hold it.
Most of my springers have lead added wherever possible to make 'em feel better.
I have a Sig 226 that looks and shoots pretty well.
I have a gas blowback G17 and Walther P99 and non blowback 1911 and Colt Pony.
They were great fun in Houston because I couldn't shoot real guns. A .22 is a lot more fun!
