I was just looking over my Corbon JHP I keep loaded in my house gun, and it looked as if there was a little buldging along where the bullet is seated in the casing. It doesn't go around the entire casing, but I am wonding if this is someting I should worry about. Could this be caused from the slide slaming home when I put a round in the pipe? Just in case you were wondering, its 185 gr. .40 S&W ammo, and the gun is a SigPro BL2340.

Think I'd call Corbon on that one. I can't imagine why a case would bulge just from being chambered. Since it's a high pressure round, I'd let Corbon take a whack at explaining....

Measure the overall length of that round and compare it to rounds that have not been chambered. If the bulging round is more than about 0.002 inch shorter than the others, then the bullet has probably been pushed into the case. This can be very dangerous in 9mm and 40 S&W because they are already loaded to maximum pressures. Pushing the bullet further into the case can drastically increase pressure when fired.

ditto what these guys said..its commonly referred as 'bullet setback' and is probably the cause of alot of KB's in various guns.
