Guys I need some input. I am in the market for a scope for my ruger m77 .22-250 target. I will use the rifle mostly for coyote hunting and range shooting. What I am looking for in a scope is something in the 4x16x50ao Range and as far as price somewhere around the 300.00 to 350.00 price tag. I have a burris fullfield II 3x9x40 on my deer rifle and I like it real well. But was wanting a little more power for my varmit rig as I am likely to get futher shots on coyotes then deer around these parts. Any info. appreciated

How about the Burris 3.5-10 x 50?

10x is plenty enough power for coyotes as far away as a 22-250 will kill them. And 3.5x gives enough field-of-view for close range running shots.
For that matter, a 3-9 x 40 is plenty enough power too.
A 400 yard coyote appears as being only 45 yards away at 9x.
In my experiance with hunting Kansas coyotes over about 50 years, I've missed way more from too much power then not enough.
I usually run around on the lowest power setting of 3x or 4x, and seldom get a chance to dial up to 9x when I jump one.
When calling them in close, I often wish for more field-of-view, and less power then the 3x setting gives me.

Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 would be great, I would avoid a 50mm obj lens to keep the scope lower to the rifle.

I got a Nikon Buckmasters 6x18x40 Side focus with their new BDC reticle. I like it alot and the BDC works fine even with bullets that run about 3900 fps. I only used it at 300 yards though. I bought mine off ebay for $280. They retail for about $350
