Good day all! I'm new to this forum, in fact I'm about 5 minutes new:rolleyes: . I purchased my first M1 Garand, and need some help locating a nice Springfield Armory stock/stockset. The rifle I have came with a stinkin' synthetic stock. Trust me, this stock is UGLY! I've been having trouble finding a nice original stock at a reasonable price that's not hammered to He@! and back. Can anybody help me on this? SOS. Thanks everyone!

I've got a spare walnut that I bought on ebay. $100 shipped, and it's yours. If you want a cheaper one, check out ebay. There's a seller called "Doug's stockpile" in Harrisburgh, PA. He has all ranges of stuff. I saw him and his stuff at show last week. Very nice to very ugly.

Garand stocks are a "you get what you pay for" or "you get out what quality (and time of work) you put in" kind of thing. You can buy beater stocks with no cracks, strip, clean, and re-finish them, and you're in business.

Enjoy your new addiction :D
