A coupla ways to do this...

First, get a decent smith to install studs, one in the stock near the heel of the butt and one in the rib between the barrels. Many older European SxS have similar.

Second, Orvis, Dunn's, etc, carry slings that have loops on each end. One goes over the grip, the other the barrels. No mods to gun, and they serve nicely for toting. They should be removed before firing.

HTH...

I'd be a bit goosey bout shootin , using sling, with forward attachment to lower rib. With my luck, would pull the rib loose.

I , on occaision , make my own carry slings out of cheap nylon strap. Much as Dave described for the Orvis ones.

Pay attention to length. With short barrels the difference tween good for carry and slippin off of the muzzel end is very small.
