It's not the one that I own in hand but it's the exact thing. The website is not letting me repost the pictures that I took of my gun so I had to steal these off the Sig website.

I hope that you enjoy these pics as much I as enjoy my new 1911

I forgot to add that these are stock with the weapon so they are made by Sig (I do Believe) but they are the Diamond Rose wood grips. I just looked it up and they are priced on the Sig Sauer website for only $49.95

I only have one autoloader with wood grips, so here is my Mark I. I'm not sure of the manufacturer because I bought them from another user after a thread like this. I liked the grips so much that I bought them before I had even owned the Ruger :)

If I ever got another pair of wood grips I would have to get some Nill Griffe ( (KN) grips for my P6 or P7.

October 17, 2009, 11:53 AM
This MkIII 22/45 didn't start life with wood grips, so I fixed that. :D

pretty cool; what's involved?

>This guide< ( me the inspiration.
Take all of the bits and pieces out of the frame, tape off everything, grind flat, mark spots for 1911 bushing, drill and tap, install bushings, reassemble. It wasn't too bad.

Wood grips belong on the traditional 45 semi-automatic, just like the one I carried in Nam.The weapon was as reliable as the willy's jeep and when out of ammo, it made a great hammer. I tried to find some good blanks that I could work with to create my own Brand so to speak. Could not find them so. I took a piece of Red Oak off my fire place rack and this is what too me about a month to get done. A lot of work, but I'm happy.
