The one that suits ME as yours should you . It is a single stack 9 that a person could search here and on other forums tho . I guess i am not hiding my carry so much as i am asking " Just what difference does it make ?" my needs in a carry gun are not likely to be your needs . My comfort level may or may not be yours . Frankly i could care less what the op or anyone else carries , but the fact that " you " do makes me feel safer both for my self and for my family .

Beretta 96 in .40 S&W with LMS-1441 guide rod laser, extended mag release from an Elite II as well as skelotonized hammer and "D" Spring. Stoeger Cougar 8000 in .40 S&W lives in the truck along with Mossberg M590A1 military shotgun with nite sights. method of carry varies depending on weather but is usually carried in a Galco SOB holster of a Gould and Goodrich belt slide with a double mag carrier or horizontal single mag carrier. I have 10 variants of .40 S&W but carry the 96 consistantly as I want to be completely reflexive when in a real world situation. No time to think about alternate control placement which is why the Stoeger works well as a BUG for the 96 when necessary, same grip angle/controls. In fact the mag release from an Elite II lives in my Cougar.

My primary carry gun is a Glock 23 but, I feel pretty confident that in the next year it will change. Either to a brand new XDM (.40 cal) or to an H&K P30. I have held both recently and can't seem to stop thinking of each.

I love the XD and the fact that it holds 16 in the magazine but don't care for the very aggressive "checkering" in the front and back of the grip.

I love the way the grip feels on the P30 but don't like the fact that it only holds 15 rounds of 9mm in the mag.

Maybe I'll just save up and buy both and switch off between the 2. (If I only could save that much money!)

Sig P239 9mm most days. Almost unbelievable how easy it is to carry and accurately hit with a gun this size. Fast becoming my favorite. Wish I had bought one sooner!

Wintertime sometimes finds me with a Springfield .45 that I built up myself with some Wilson Combat parts and a Videcki trigger. The more I carry a gun, the lighter one I want. The 1911 is going back to being my hiking/backwoods gun until I can get a compact one to customize for concealed carry. Probably something from Springfield or Kimber that I can modify to my tastes.

For fast pocket carry and maximum concealment, I use a S&W model 640 Centennial stainless hammerless, with a Wolff Spring kit and hand polished internal parts. Very fast on target, and surprisingly accurate with the Federal Hydra-Shock ammo. Recoil is not bad, either.

I've been carrying the Smith & Wesson Chief Special in .45 ACP for several years now. It has been an excellent, reliable gun that is very accurate to 25 yards. Out of approximately 2500 rounds I've had one failure to feed and that was with my own reloaded ammo so I blame it on the ammo, not the gun.

I practice with 230grain JHP. When I carry it, I use 230 grain Hornady TAP .45 JHP FPD +P. Yes, it's expensive ammo but it never fails. Money is no object when my life or the life of a loved one or friend depends on it. :scrutiny:

I also carry a little Charter Arms .38 Special Snubbie for backup and use Hornady 158 Grain JHP/XTP +P in it. :uhoh:

If these two guns can't get the job done then I doubt it can be done without help from someone else. If I can't stop a threat with 24 rounds (I carry an extra mag for the .45 and a full speed loader for the .38 special) then I doubt it can be stopped.

Pawpaw always told me that if you can't stop them with the first or second shot then you got no business carrying a gun because you don't know how to use it. :(

If it were not for the weight and the overpenetration, I'd carry my Desert Eagle .50 AE. :D

I switch between two handguns, both 1911 pattern. The one I carry most is a Springfield G.I. that Deezulsmoke worked over for me ( www.ontargetcgw.com ) and the other is a *gasp* Charles Daly that's had nothing but spring weights changed.

HK USP 9 or S&W 637 depending upon what I'm wearing and the weather.

I'm looking to switch to a HK P30 when then start selling it with a LEM trigger.

Which ever of my two that i like carrying at the time and depending on the weather and what clothing I wear.

Most everyone here knows this but here I go again.

H&K USP45 full size, with Insight Technologies' M2 UTL attachment and with Federal Premium HST (JHP) I have only a OWB holster for it called a "Triple Double"

Last but far from least my new SIG GSR 1911 C3 with the same bullets :neener: and I have no holster but I Mexican carry it in the lower of my back and it actually is comfortable and practical there. It never slips out or in it does shift left or right a lil but that's an easy fix and it doesn't project when I wear an untucked button up that's unbuttoned over it.

Until recently,I carried a Ruger P90 in .45acp. I have since put the Ruger in the gun safe and started carrying a Cz82 in 9x18mak. Very light and compact, accurate and reliable. The 12 round mags are a plus also.

Depends on weather, clothing, and where I am going.

All the time, never leave home without it: S&W 638 Airweight loaded with Speer Gold-Dot +P or CBC Pow'rBall +P

If another gun is carried, the Smith goes to backup duty.

I usually carry either a IMI Baby Eagle Compact .40 with Hornady TAP or an RIA Compact .45 with Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel Load.

I have been known to carry my Judge from time to time though.
