I am leaning towards fake.

I've found them at gun shows (scope & mount) for $100......at that price you won't get hurt. One's I've seen have green and red dots with two brightness levels. (4 mil dot)

Researches and interviews will be conducted on IPR related hot topics and key issues to raise public awareness and look for effective solutions zt1000 (http://www.batteryfast.com/hp/zt1000.php). Priority areas will include non-service invention-creation, patent-to-technology transformation and the IPR protection pa3128u-1brs (http://www.batteryfast.com/toshiba/pa3176u-1bas.php) awareness of the younger generation.

What is batteryblog8 talking about... some really tech stuff in regards to Aimpoints or something else? Just curious... if I am wrong I offer my apology and mean no harm or foul. Just doesn't seem to match the OP's subject. Or is it the meat that comes in a can and rhymes with ham?

Buy the real one.
Buying fakes to me is almost like knowingly buying stolen goods. The thieves in this case just still the technology, design, and good name of Aimpoint (and other).
If any of use had spent the money for R&D and the patent(s) we would be furious when we were ripped off by a foreign country and probably feel a bit betrayed when others knowingly bought the ripped off design.

I was talking about the whole gun and all. I figured it was fake (didn't look quite right). However, if it was real, the current price was looking pretty darn good actually.

That's a pretty nice Daewoo (one of the original gas-piston AR's :) )
That said...the mount is way too high.

Yeah, I have one. I was thinking of buying that one, but decided to hold out for a K2/Ar100/etc.
EDIT: I'll also add that I am certain the seller knows it is fake and is trying to defraud people.

Here's the sellers response about my inquiries regarding the last auction and the Aimpoint issue.
The guy stiffed me on the auction. It's being relisted because he did not pay. Check his feedback, I'm the third F rating in 30 days. As far as I know it is an aimpoint. It says it right on the side. You can see it in the pictures.

Ask the seller for the Aimpoint serial number....fakes all have the same number. (10338#240944)
Age old saying...."Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".....as in the case of the 1911. There may or may not be enough differences in the scope to avoid a patent infringement, but taking Aimpoint's name is wrong. There's quite a detailed post about the Aimpoints w/pics on AR15.Com.

don't buy it. you will regret dealing with people like that. you'll find out for sure later it is fake and he won't take it back, and then you'll be tempted to pass it off to the next guy.

The guy who won the auction appears to be a member here. I think I might shoot him an email pointing this thread out.

I had a real AimPoint Comp M for a couple of years. Worked great for me, but I was able to sell it for a little bit more than I paid for it so away it went.
Fast forward another year or so, and I am hankering again for another red-dot for my new Bulgy '74. I looked around the web some and decided to go with a fake AimPoint.
Since I don't jump out of helos, or swim underwater on a regular basis I figured it might work out for me.
It has.
No problems that I can report, other than the lens cap was a bit loose but that was easily fixed, and the dot is as clear and defined as with the real AimPoint.
It looks like a real AimPoint also. Too much in fact, for my taste.
I'm not a poser who likes to pass something off as real when it is not, so I put a tan rubber cover over the AimPoint logo.
For the 40 or so bucks total I spent, including shipping, I am pleased with my ClonePoint purchase. In fact, I would buy one again without hesitation.

The made in China AP copies appear to be well made but looks and feel can be deceiving. I owned a AP copy and was fooled by them also. The tube, lens , lens covers and the mounts that come with sight are all well made. The internals are cheap parts. I have seen pictures of the inside of these sights. Someone on another forum took one apart. The connections, switch, leaf springs, wires & diode are all cheap parts. It has a internal polymer tube which has slot for the diode. The diode held in the slot by black electrical tape only. Most of these sights will give good service for awhile but won't last under heavy service.
The real AimPoint sights are a very simple design and are made very similar but made with more durable parts.
The made in Japan AP copies cost more and are suppose to be made very durable.
Picture of the inside of the made in in China Aimpoint copy. All of the ones that are made in China are made the same way. It makes no sense because they could have used a little better parts and epoxied the diode in place and charged a little more them and they could have been an excellent red dot sight.
I owned 2 red dot sights total. One is a real Aimpoint Comp M2, the other is a replica of it which I bought on eBay for $60 new with the quick detach mount.
After repeated use between them, both on AR15s, I decided to do what I felt was the smarter move for me. I put the real Comp M2 on eBay and got $315 bucks back.
There was absolutely no difference in the field between them. There was no visible difference between the dots in daylight whatsoever. Both held zero 100% after removal. I am not a soldier carrying my Aimpoint through mud or water or beating the heck out of them. I used them only at my range in good conditions, and in those conditions I did not feel my money was well spent on such an expensive red dot sight. On zero magnification sights, I'll be honest and say that glass really doesn't seem to matter. It's the laser and brightness which do matter to me, and ability to keep working with a good zero-retention after removal. The replica does that just fine, and half the time no one will ever know the difference.
