According to Reuters - Bill Clinton and Mikhail Gorbachev will narate a PC recording of Prokofiev 's Peter and the Wolf. What an insult to Prokofiev.

Don't you believe me Art ? The PCs want to destroy everything. www.Reuters.com do search for "Peter and the Wolf" Aug 28and 29. I put this on the hunting section since Peter was a hunter and he was hunting a wolf.

Clinton Narrates Wolf-Friendly Peter and the Wolf

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Sergei Prokofiev's musical fairy tale Peter and the Wolf is popular with children but not with wolf lovers, and two former world leaders -- Bill Clinton and Mikhail Gorbachev -- aim to put that right in a new recording.

Prokofiev's version ends with Peter capturing the wolf and leading a triumphant procession to the zoo, paining music-loving environmentalists with romantic visions of wolves in the wild.

"In Prokofiev's classic, man dominates, but Wolf Tracks expresses quite different values of balance and tolerance. All of us hope for a future where these values are lived every day," Gorbachev said.

Part of the proceeds will go to the New York-based Wolf Conservation Center, which supports the reintroduction of wolves into the wild.

The accompanying booklet includes an article supposedly written by a wolf.

"On behalf of all wolves, I would like to thank Kent Nagano and the Russian National Orchestra, Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev and Sophia Loren for coming together to make this recording," the wolf writes.

This isn't PC. This is terminal stoopid. It deserves a full-bore, Category 5 LawDog rant. This sort of dreck is common, coming from people whose own "environment" is mostly climate-controlled.

So capturing and putting it on display to the slack jawed urbanites too terrified to trek into the woods is more humane than shooting it outright?

For god's sake why not have Peter and The Wolf play chess if you want a re-write.

Oh and I'm re-writing the Old Man and The Sea, but in this one there is no Marlin and the sharks save the old man. Does he have to be old because this is so Keanu, he has that mildly asian look that can pass for samoan but in a suburban friendly way, but he does needto tan. OK as far as sharks go apparently the tigers have a nasty habit of biting the camera housings off the boat so we'll be using anamatronics and our marketing department says kids are scared of sharks so want them more dolphin-like and oh yes by the way there will be no peeing in the ocean, as this promotes pollution of our ocean waters and we can't have that.
