I've heard several folks mention adding the 5900 series magazine baseplates to the 6906 magazines for a more concealable setup. Anyone got any pictures of this?

'preciate it!

I recently researched and posted this on the S&W Forum. Behold:

"For those who are interested, I contacted S&W about the adapters that would allow a 15 rd. 59xx series mag to fit flush in a 6906. Here is the response below:"

"Your part # 242120000 appox. $7.00 each.
Call 800-331-0852 ext: 2905 to order."

Hope this helps, Mike

I have these on 3 5900 series magazines that I use for my 6906. I still have the regular 12 rounders, but it's nice to get a few more rounds out of a short barreled gun. As a side note, I put these on 2 4006 mags and used them in my 4013TSW. 4013TSW is based on the 6900 series frame, so it works great and you change your 9 round capacity to 11.

However, I believe the question here was about attaching the flat 5900 series baseplate to a 6900 series magazine. I don't know. Never even thought to try it. Probably would save you about a 1/2 inch in butt length.

While the adaptors that Big Mike suggest are neat for making a 5900 mag feel like part of your 6906's grip (and S&W's service is terrific), to answer the Q presented: I don't have any photos, but I've done it to 2 of my 6906 mags and it works fine. These are the mags that I put in the gun if I need it super-small for concealment. These mags do not, obviously, provide the pinkie support that the 6906 baseplate provides - but the gun is totally manageable.

There are photos of this online at S&W forum, but the search feature was down yesterday. Anyhow, the front of the plastic base for the 5900 mag does not quite match up and rides just a teensy bit further out in front of the frontstrap.
