So I just couldn't help myself, I go to buy one little shotgun, and then it happened..... I couldn't just walk away with one gun.

I tried to resist, but they looked so darn purdy..... and even now I want to buy more, I keep working on buying everything on my wishlist, but every time I buy one, I find something else that I want.

Anyone have a something similar happen?

Hello James

I have purchased four revolvers in a little over a week, so, you are not alone. I picked up a new S&W no-lock 642, a 1980 S&W model 520 N frame .357, a 1976 S&W square butt 2" bbl model 36 and a 1937 S&W model 38-44 Heavy Duty. Now talk about purdy.:D

I have had the same sickness, the major problem is explaining to the wife how it they followed me home.

Yeah, if I had disposable cash, it would be difficult for it not to turn into a firearm...or 12 :D

Yeah, if I had disposable cash

Who said anything about disposable cash? That's why it's a problem.:neener: Seriously, I've got to get into a support group or something. Too bad they don't have an Overeaters Anonymous/Gun-a-holics Anonymous. One of the gun shops I frequent is right next to a Wendy's and the other that I frequent is right next to a McDonald's. Not good. Man, I loves me some ice cream.

HA! If you find a cure, don't tell me about it!

In the last two weeks I have purchased a HK USP9c used, a S&W M&P .45 new, and a WASR-10...along with the CETME, Mauser, and remmy 721 I purchased while deployed...

I need to spend the rest of my money on AMMO for the suckers.

My name is John...and I'm a gun-a-holic.

Please reduce the size of your pictures. A dial up poster will be loading this page until Tuesday.
"...explaining to the wife..." A lack of disposable cash and stupid laws sorts it out quickly too. Mind you, I really couldn't see me buying a Saiga. Or a Glock. Nothing wrong with either, really, except that I find Glocks are slippery and Saigas are PC AK's.

Saigas are PC AK's.

Saiga's are "PC" because they are imported from Russia.

They can't be imported with "evil" features.

I sure do feel better knowing I am not alone with my firearm problems.

Phydeaux: just dream, a fine Gun Shop with a Cold Stone Icecream shop over to the side.

I also have a little problem with all the upgrade parts I canbuy, and just tinker for hours making them more accurate and prettier.

I never see buying guns as a problem. Telling Mrs White that I bought more guns is a huge problem, though.

Crap, I just bought a 500 Persuader last week, and now it looks so lonely without a sleek Russian friend (I've been meaning to get a little something in .308 too...).

Ah crap where did my paycheck go.

You can cure your condition, but only by buying lots of ammo. It won't make you richer, but it will make you a better shot.

Like Ford once said (kinda), you can have a gun in any color you like, as long as you like black!

From where I sit, you do NOT have a problem. What you do have is the start of a collection.

Hi James,
you do have a problem, but we can help. Step 1 of the process is get rid of the Glock. That should solve your problem.:neener:

Psywarrior13
August 11, 2008, 04:54 PM
This now brings the collection to 7. I bought the Glock, because every collection should have one. I am not a Glock-a-holic, but I enjoy a variety. I just can't wait to save up for the next purchase... a S&W 686, and a Garand. That might help with my problem... There are sooo many guns without good homes. Just doing my part and adopting as many as I can :D

Nice buys. Guess we all have the same need to acquire more firearms. The only cure I know of is a lottery win so I can buy 'em all.:D:evil:

I love my Saiga 308's have 2 one converted and the other still sporter upon which I will be 'como'ing' soon.Nice selection you have there, but id (my own opinion) wouldve gotten an XD instead of the Glock.

jakemccoy
August 11, 2008, 07:33 PM
You don't have to apologize for having just one Glock. However, in a few months, I fully expect you to have at least one more. You're welcome in advance.

Psywarrior13
August 11, 2008, 07:59 PM
I have one more Glock on the list, and an XD. But they are farther down. Here is the list in order (pending any great deals of course)

1. S&W 686
2. Garand
3. Springfield 1911 GI
4. Glock 31
5. CZ 75
6. AR 15/M4 (still deciding on the model / models)
7. Saiga 12
8. XD40
9. .38 snubby (still deciding on model)
10. SIG PRO 2009
11. Another AK!

And I am always looking to add, nor will I stop there, like I said. I am a gun-a-holic :D

What problem, I don't see no problem, you barely have a nice start but any start is a good start.

skua44
August 13, 2008, 03:01 PM
Exactly right, Grump. With 3 pieces you can still claim "need". That is really hard to do once you pass 50 in the safe. It's good that my wife can't tell the difference between a Hakim and a Garand at a glance. A full, or nearly full safe makes it easier to cammoflage the new babies, also.
I too am James, gun-o-holic.

I also have the problem, I go to a state college, I live at home, I work full time (making good money)...... and I'm broke

and i have more than one gun for every year of my life, I've bought a gun, or two, or three, every month this year so far

my parents finally threatened to charge me rent if i bought another one this year, either they were bluffing or my dad hasn't really looked through the safe recently

EDIT: BTW my name is also James

Psy, get a S&W 642 for a .38 snubbie. It's the only right answer.

I'm infected too. Although my records are a bit more modest than some. Most at once: two. Most in a week: three. The only thing keeping me from buying another is the 28" barrel I want to get for my 870 and I really need to get set up to reload.

Good gawd man! Blasphemy!!! With that said, I just bought a Saiga in 7.62x39! ;) Can't wait to shoot it. However, I am going to convert it to take normal AK mags and the standard AK stock set up.

I agree the S&W 642 is an excellent choice but not the only one. a 638, 637 would also be acceptable depending on which you like the looks of. I like all three. I do have a cure for your gun buying "problem" but I love my wife and I'm not ready to give her up.

Try to maintain. There is no cure, but it is not fatal (although your wife might kick your tail). The symptoms are cyclical. I have found that the arrival of the credit card statement usually helps it to go into remission. For a little while.
