Anyone shooting one of these, thinking about getting one and wondered how good they are precision wise. The percussion model would be the one I'd buy, and it's for my wife, so weight is going to be a slight concern possibly.

Also looked at the Tryon Match.....

Any comments on these, loads, bulles etc would be appreciated.

:)

The Tyron Match is over 10 pounds, and the fast barrel twist requires conical bullets which Pedersoli has bullets and a mold for. It's a 310 grain minie.

I have the Mortimer flintlock .54 caliber. It is a beautiful rifle with very fine fit/workmanship. The lock-time is very fast and nearly sure-fire, rain or shine. I shoot .535 roundballs patched with .016 pillow-ticking and loaded with 70 grains of FFFg (Goex) black powder. While I did have to "zero" the sights initially, the rifle is quite accurate. I also shoot the Lee .54/320 R.E.A.L. bullet with 80 grains of FFg Goex and it shoots to the POI as the round ball load out to 75 yards. Everyone I let shoot it is very impressed. I would love to get a 12 gauge shotgun barrel for it.
