Hearing Protection for Youth Hunting

How does everyone handle hearing protection for their kids when hunting? In particular, dove hunting. I always make my 11 year old wear elec. muffs when we shoot clays or pistols- etc. In years past I've made him wear them when dove hunting but they bother him, too hot or whatever. I shoot a 28ga. and he shoots a 20 ga, no big bore stuff. What do you guys do for intermittent shooting like dove?

Soft foam disposable earplugs. They are very comfortable and fit almost any size ear canal. :)

I just use the cheap foam earplugs. They and not too hot, and work well. For the range, I double up with plug and muffs

The cheap/free foam plugs offer the same sound reduction levels as my custom poured ones. And they offer a better seal when used properly.
